During the holidays I spend a lot of time in the kitchen. There is just something about this time of year that gets me in the cooking and baking spirit. Of course you can’t cook up a storm without the right tools and this year I have enlisted the help of Kitchen IQ to help me with all my cooking needs. I recently held a small intimate get-together where my guests and I tested out a few gadgets from Kitchen IQ.
The first gadget and probably the most important was The Edge Grip Knife Sharpener. A good knife is essential in the kitchen and making sure you have a sharp one at all times is a must. The The Edge Grip Knife Sharpener features a unique design which sharpens both Euro and American style knives. It’s super small and compact and has an Edge Grip bottom which allows it to fit easily on your countertop. This gadget was probably one of the biggest hits of the party because everyone was so surprised to see how well it quickly sharpened dull knives with just a few pulls.
Now the holidays just aren’t the same without a made from scratch Lemon Meringue Pie. I make one every year for either Thanksgiving or Christmas. The key to making this pie is making sure you have enough fresh lemon zest, and not just any old zester will do. After using The Better Zester, I highly recommend it to all my friends and family. It’s got a stainless steel blade that is great for all kinds of citruses including lemons. But my favorite part is The Better Zester container which holds the zest and also doubles as a measuring tool. I had several of The Better Zester gadgets to go around so we all played around with it and saw just how easy they are to use.
And last but certainly not least was The Potato Tool. Everyone I know uses potatoes in same shape or form when they are cooking. Whether it’s mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, french fries, or even diced potatoes. They are just an easy and delicious food to make. But the worst part about cooking with potatoes is taking that peeling off. The Potato Tool is a three in one tool perfect for cleaning, peeling and cutting potatoes (and other vegetables). On the top is a scrub brush which allows you to easily clean the outside of your vegetable. Then without missing a beat, you can go straight to peeling and then cutting with the paring knife that’s including in the bottom. What I like most about this tool is that it’s convenient, saves time and space.
