So if you don’t already know I am a southern girl born and raised in Oklahoma. Here in the heartland we love us some Pecan Pies and actually I think I could have a slice of Pecan Pie everyday of the week. Last night I had a package of pecans so I decided to test out a new recipe. This pecan pie bars recipe is basically a mix between Pecan Pie and a cookie. These pecan pie bars turned out so good. My husband and I managed to devour half of the pecan pie bars before the morning. So much for my diet. Anyway if your looking for a recipe that’s easy to make, looks and tastes delicious and will impress just about anyone than this is the recipe for you.

How to Make Pecan Pie Bars

Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350 Degrees. In a 9×13 pan line the bottom and sides with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, stir together the 2 cups of flour, 1/3 cup of sugar and salt. Cut in the 2/3 Cup of butter into the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs. It should look like the picture below.

3.S prinkle the Mixture evenly over the bottom of the pan and press in firmly. Bake in the Oven for 20 minutes at 350 degrees.
4.  While the crust is baking, your going to prepare the yummy filling. In a large bowl mix together the eggs, corn syrup, 1 cup of white sugar, 2 tablespoons of melted butter and the vanilla, until smooth. Next stir in the chopped pecans.
5.  Spread the filling evenly all over the crust as soon as it comes out of the oven. Make sure it’s even.
6. Bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until the filling is set. Allow the bars to cool completely before slicing into bars. The parchment paper makes it so easy to lift the bars out of the pan and place on a cooling rack.
7. When the Pecan Pie Bars are completely cooled slice them into bars and enjoy! These are so so so good. I’m thinking next time I will see how these taste using Splenda.
