Summers as a kid were filled with long hot days, exploring the streets on my trusty bike. I loved my first bike and together we clocked a lot of miles through my neighborhood. Those early years of bike riding were some of the best memories of my childhood. Now that I all grown up I still love to ride my bike. There is something relaxing about riding through the neighborhoods with the cool breeze blowing in your hair. Plus it’s great exercise.
But not just any bike will do for these neighborhood rides. With so many different brands of bikes on the market you want to make sure that you purchase a bike that is dependable and features all the safety gear that you need for a fun and safe bike ride. That’s why I always look for a Schwinn when purchasing bikes. Schwinn was established in 1895 and is America’s oldest bike brand. They offer all types of bikes depending on what your wants and needs are. You can always rest easy with Schwinn because they offer a limited lifetime warranty for as long as you own your bike.
Schwinn bikes are available at all Walmart stores and on Walmart.com. They have a wide variety of bikes to choose from, whether you are looking for a mountain bike or something to just ride around the neighborhood. They have it all. I have been in desperate need of a new bike for awhile now, so with the help of my husband we headed to Walmart to find the perfect bike.
It was a tough choice picking the best bike but I finally went with this one pictured below. It’s a mountain bike that I can ride on trails, or with my family around the neighborhood. Of course when you buy a new bike you always want to make sure that you pick up a new helmet as well. It’s so important that you (adults and kids) always wear a helmet when riding a bike and observe all traffic laws.
Biking is one of my favorite activities because it’s a healthy activity that you can do with your friends, family or even alone. The weather here in Oklahoma has finally started to warm up so we have been getting ready to take our bikes out for our first family ride of the summer. To make sure that our bikes are in the best condition to ride we always do a bike safety checklist which is an important first step in getting ready for biking season. Here is the checklist below so you can get your bike ready as well.
Bike Checklist Items
- Helmet
- Tires
- Brakes
- Seat
- Reflector
- Pedals
Make sure you check all of these items before you begin your bike ride. It only takes a few minutes to go through the list to make sure everything is up and running the way it should be. Summers are about having fun but you should still try and always try and put safety first.
