Like most little girls, I just idolized my mom when I was younger. In my eyes she was the most beautiful woman in the world. I wanted to look and be just like her. So I would dress up in her clothes, slip her shoes on and even sneak a bit of her makeup every now and then. Now that I am older I can look back and see that she was the one woman who single handedly shaped my beauty routine into what it is now.
Now that I am a mom and have a daughter of my own, I can see her look up to me with those same eyes that I had for my mom. I want to make sure that I inspire my daughter and to always let her know that true beauty comes from inside. I want her to be confident and know that it doesn’t matter what other people think, as long as she feels good with herself. That’s all that really matters.
This is one of the reasons why I love Dove’s latest campaign, Four Generations. Even now as an adult I love to hear other women’s positive beauty stories and draw inspiration from them. We as woman, can always learn something from one another. That’s one of the things that makes us so great. Dove has put together a very touching video which you can see for yourself on the Meijer’s Dove page here.
And don’t forget; head in to your closest Meijer for great in-store savings on Dove. Save $5 when you spend $15 worth of participating Dove products. This is the time to stock up.
