Living in Oklahoma, I am not stranger to beautiful scenery. There are beautiful and majestic spots all over the state. However, every once in a while I will come across a place that is so beautiful that it takes my breath away. This is how I felt when I first laid eyes on the Chickasaw Retreat and Conference Center.
Chickasaw Retreat
Located in Sulphur, Oklahoma the Chickasaw Retreat is surrounded by undisturbed beauty. It’s located in between the Lake of the Arbuckles and the Arbuckle Mountains.
You may be surprised to learn this but as big as this resort is, it only has around 40 rooms. So even when it’s at it’s full compacicity you will never feel over crowded. I really loved this intimacy while were were at the hotel. The pool was never crowded. And there were a lot of places that you could go for peace, quiet and relaxation. Yes, even with kids!
Inside The King Suite
We had the pleasure of staying in one of the two King Suites. If you are able to splurge on one thing while on vacation, I would suggest upgrading your room. This suite was fantastic. We felt like royalty the whole time we were at the resort.
The suite has a kitchen with fridge, microwave, coffee pot and plenty of storage space. We had packed a lot of our own food so it was easy to prepare sandwiches, etc. in this spacious kitchen.
Next to the kitchen is the living area. It has a large couch which pulls out into a bed. Three chairs and an ottoman. We had plenty of room to sit back and watch TV together. This was especially great after a long day swimming and exploring the resort.
There are two bathrooms in the King Suite. Two bathrooms is a lifesaver when you have young kids. The first bathroom has a tub, toilet and vanity.
The master bathroom was my favorite! This room is almost as big as the bedroom. It has a large walkin shower, separate bathtub and small room with another toilet.
Next up is the master bedroom. It’s very spacious in size and super comfortable. It does have a door separate from the living room for added privacy.
One of my favorite parts about the suite is the large outdoor patio. There are two ways to access it from the suite. The living room and the master bedroom. It’s a great place to read a book, drink your morning coffee or just enjoy the beauty of the surrounding nature.
Chickasaw Retreat Swimming Pool & Fitness Center
There is lot’s of things to do at the resort including taking a swim in the heated swimming pool and hot tub. Our kids swam for hours and loved every minute of it. I loved being able to relax in the hot tub.
I also wanted to mention the state of the art fitness center at the Chickasaw Retreat. This gym is AMAZING!! It made me actually want to work out. They have pretty much every type of gym equipment you can think of. They even have a track on the upper level.
Springs at the Artesian
Currently the Chickasaw Resort only serves a buffet style breakfast in the restaurant. But they are currently trying to add more meal options in the near future. So for dinner and lunch I recommend Springs at the Artesian. They have a menu full of tasty dishes.
It’s hard to capture all of the beauty of the Chickasaw Retreat in a few pictures. Here is a short video I made highlighting the resort, our room and the features you will find at the hotel.
The Chickasaw Retreat is a luxurious retreat surrounding by the beauty of nature. To learn more about this beautiful resort you can visit http://chickasawretreat.com. For now I will leave you with a beautiful sunset that my family and I captured while walking the grounds at the resort.
