Winter and I have a bit of a love-hate relationship. I love all of the perks that come along with the winter months like Christmas and snow. But I absolutely hate to be cold. I always have a blanket within reach when the temperatures drop below 50 because my body and cold, just don’t go well together. Luckily I have central heat and and air which keeps me warm and toasty most of the time however my bedroom is a different story. My bedroom is drafty and cold and since it was added onto our home, it doesn’t have central heat. I have been in the market for a way to warm up my bedroom during the winter and a few weeks ago I finally found it with the NewAir AH-450B Space Heater.
Space Heater Review
The NewAir AH-450B Space Heater is ready to go right out of the box. There is no assembly required. The only thing that separates you from heat, is plugging your unit into the wall. It’s large in heat but it’s small in size so it doesn’t take up a lot of room. I place my heater near the wall and out of the way. But since it has wheels and is portable you can easily transport it from room to room if you like.
The space heater is oil-filled which means it distributes the heat more evenly making sure your entire room get’s nice and toasty. It can heat up to a 300 square foot room or office and I can attest that it really does heat it up. We have a really large bedroom which is around 250 square feet and it warms our room up in no time. The front of the heater has LED controls which allow you to easily adjust the temperature. There is also an 8 hour timer and remote for your convenience.
So I know that having a heating unit can sometimes get noisy. This is not an issue with the 450B. It is super quiet and honestly you don’t even know it’s there. The only time it makes noise is when you first turn the heater on. It makes a bubbling noise for a minute or so and that’s it.
Safety Features
This heater has certified safety features such as overheat protection and a tip-over switch. Having two kids and two small dogs, safety is a huge concern of mine. I love having the peace of mind knowing that the heater will automatically turn off if it accidentally get’s knocked over.
Final Thoughts
I have lived in Oklahoma my whole life. It’s really a fantastic place to live. However the winter months can get cold, brutally cold. months. I know that I am not alone when it comes to being cold. States all over the US have been battling record low temperatures and it looks like it’s not quite over yet.
