The holidays can be an extremely busy time of year. With all the holiday shopping, Christmas parties and get-togethers it’s hard to find the time to just step back and enjoy yourself. But that’s not what the holidays are about. The holidays are about coming together with your friends and family, eating delicious party food and celebrating Christmas together and enjoying this special time that only comes around once a year. This holiday season I challenge you to take a step back from all the chaos and enjoy what really matters.
One of my favorite parts about the holidays is all the fun Christmas parties. But with Christmas Parties comes food and I don’t want to be stuck in the kitchen slaving over a hot stove. That’s why when it comes to serving delicious dishes to my guests I look for easy recipes that don’t take a lot of time. One of my go-to recipes for holiday get-togethers is my husbands famous Spicy Shrimp Pasta. This recipe only takes a few simple ingredients and is cooked and on the serving dish in less than thirty minutes.
All of the ingredients that you need for this simple pasta recipe can be found at your local Walmart. The key ingredient to this spicy shrimp pasta is the tabasco sauce which can be found in the condiment aisle next to the vinegar and BBQ sauce. There are a variety of flavors
Ingredients:
8 oz of Cooked Shrimp (Thawed)
16 oz of Spaghetti
1 Small Onion chopped
1 Tablespoon Minced Garlic
2 Tablespoons of Red Tabasco
1 Tsp of Green Jalapeño Pepper Tabasco
1/4 Stick of Butter
1 Tsp Red Pepper
2 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 tsp of salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1. Cook the Spaghetti according to the directions on the box. Drain and set aside.
2. Heat the oil in a large pan on medium add the onion and garlic. Saute for 3-5 minutes until onions are golden brown.
3. Add the shrimp, salt, pepper, pepper flakes and tabasco. Stir together well. Cook on low for 5 minutes.
4. Add the butter and pasta to the shrimp mixture, mix well. Cook on low for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
This is such delicious party food that after you make it once you’ll find yourself making it over and over again. If you’re not much of a shrimp person you could even swap out that part of the recipe for chicken or even vegetables. This is a very versatile recipe that you can switch up and add things to make it your own.
