I have been talking about wanting to go to Disney World since we last went 4 years ago.The problem has been that taking a vacation to Disney World is not cheap in fact it took us a long time to save up a few years ago and that was just paying for two of us because Jeremy was 2 at the time and free. Every week for the past year I have been loyally searching the internet for new Disney deals hoping that they would have something that fit into our budget. Well last month this searching paid off and I found a GREAT deal which happened to include the Free Dining Plan but airfare was still outrageous and cost almost as much as the Disney trip. I had all but giving up on every being able to afford to go to Disney again when I just happened to check out Priceline and found airfare from Tulsa, OK to Orlando Florida for $116 one-way or $232 round-trip! This is the cheapest I have ever seen flying out of Tulsa so within 24 hours we booked our trip.
We are so incredibly excited to be going back to Disney World and can’t wait to take Aubrey for her very first visit. My husband and I decided not to tell our kids until right before the trip because to be honest 3 1/2 months is a long time for two little ones to have to wait and I don’t want the excitement to wear off. I really hope I can hold this HUGE secret in and not slip up because seeing the looks on their faces when we tell them “Were Going to Disney World” is going to be priceless.
We will be going Sept 13th for 8 days staying at the Port Orleans Riverside which is a Moderate Disney Resort. We decided to stay at the Port Orleans because my mom is going to be going with us and there are only a few Disney resort hotels that can accommodate 5 people. We also upgraded to the water parks and more option which was a little bit extra but we visited the water parks last time around and they were amazing so we knew if we ever went back this was something that was a must. The Water Parks and More option also includes free admission to Disney Quest which is a 3 floor arcade/interactive amusement park. It’s basically like going into a really cool arcade and being able to play all the games with no quarters. It’s a lot of fun and I highly recommend checking it out if you never have.
One thing that we are still up in the air about is purchasing extra tickets to the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. It’s about $60 extra per person for adults and $55 for kids. I have heard amazing things so we are leaning towards going but that’s a lot of extra money. If you have ever been to this event I would love to hear your thoughts and whether it’s worth it!
We have already paid for half of our trip and have 3 months to save the rest so I am trying to think of extra ways to save money and make some. I have been doing more online studies and surveys which has added a few extra bucks to my savings. I am also trying hard not to eat out for the next month and see how much money we can save. We are super excited that we are finally getting to go back to Disney World, I really hope September is going to be a good month to visit!
