Last week Jeremy was on spring break so my husband took a few days off from work and we decided to take a mini-vacation to Oklahoma City for a few days. While we were there we decided to stop by the  Science Museum Oklahoma for the day and check it out. The kids were excited to say the least about getting to go into a museum and actually get to touch things. Since it was spring break it was very crowded but that didn’t stop us at all from having a great time, in fact this actually made the experience even better because the kids loved getting to interact and play with the other kids.

We arrived at the museum at about 11:30am and from the moment we arrived it was non-stop fun! There is so much to do at this museum that you could easily spread the fun over 2 days to really get to do everything. The first stop we made was into the main room when you first come into the museum, Aubrey saw the segways and ran to get in line to ride on one. All of the workers were extremely helpful and very friendly. They made Aubrey a Segway license and she was ready to go.

From there we went into a room where kids could build things with blocks, make paper airplanes, a drawing and art station and several other really fun things. We spent about an hour in this room alone. I think my husband and I had just as much fun working on things as the kids did.

Me focusing on my tower! The kids loved seeing their mom make a tower as bigger than me

Your ticket to the museum includes the science live show which I HIGHLY recommend! It lasts about 45 minutes and you will be laughing the entire time while your kids are learning about science. It’s a great show that gets the audience involved the whole time.

Both Jeremy and Aubrey’s favorite part was the Destination Space. This was really fun and had so many exhibits that showed things that astronauts suits, things they eat in space, and even how they go to the bathroom..I had no idea!

The highlight of the trip and something the kids will never forget was when they got to ride in the space shuttle simulator all by themselves. The kids got inside and Jeremy put on a set of headphones where he could talk to “mission control”. We could see the kids the whole time on the monitors and it was adorable seeing the excitement in their faces as the shuttle started to move and they thought they were blasting off to space. The ride lasts about 3 minutes and after they are done they get an official space shuttle sticker.

There is so much to do at the museum and I can’t wait to start planning our next trip in a few months when summer comes. The museum is only about an hour and a half from Tulsa and is well worth the drive even if you just want to make it a day trip. We had a blast and this will be a memory that our family will always remember.
