I have been a long time fan of Ripley’s Believe it or Not! whether it is watching the television series or reading the Ripley’s Book it is all fascinating stuff to me. Jeremy(my husband) and I were able to visit the Ripley’s Believe it Or Not! Museum in Branson in August during our anniversary without the kids. We had a blast and the whole time we were there my husband and I kept saying how much our son would LOVE this place.
So it was only right that during our trip to Branson this past weekend our family and I visit Ripley’s again but this time we brought the whole gang. We got to review the new Ripley’s Believe it Or Not Booka couple of months ago and my son loves it. It is one of his favorite books so the thrill of getting to see an actual shrunken head in real life was almost to much for him to handle. Ripley’s was one of the last attractions that we got to see in Branson and for three days we had to hear Jeremy asking “are we going to Ripley’s yet”?
There are over 400 exhibits and artifacts in the museum. It took our family a good 2 hours to tour the entire place. The kids (we took my daughter, son, niece and nephew) were thrilled from the moment we walked in the door. The museum is made to look like to has almost been cracked in half by a earthquake.
Among the strange and interesting exhibits you will find a two headed calf, genuine vampire killing kit form 1850, 30ft Cadillac stretch limo with heart shaped hot tub used in several hollywood movies, The human unicorn from Manchuria, and genuine shrunken heads plus much more!
You can even get your fortune read by a creepy old lady for only $1.00. Yes we got our fortunes read 🙂
Throughout Ripley’sthere are several exhibits set up for special photo opportunities for your family to capture that special and sometimes freaky moment. I think we ended up taking about 50 photos throughout the museum.
Our family had so much fun and it was a totally different experience for my husband and I to see our kids having so much fun. Even though we had previously visited Ripley’s several months ago it was just as fun as the first time and I was amazed that there was a lot of things we missed the first time around. I don’t know how we missed the Genuine Vampire Killing Kit but my son was sure to point this kit out to me as this was his FAVORITE part (besides the shrunken head) of Ripleys.
Ripley’s has several locations located across the U.S and I can’t wait to see these museums in the near future. Ripley’s Believe it Or Not! is such a fun experience for the family and one I promise you won’t ever forget.
