As my son Jeremy gets older (he will be 7 next year) he is starting to show more interest in things that keep him active and that go fast! He is still learning to ride his bike on his own and sometimes has trouble staying coordinated while doing these types of activities. Regardless he tries his best and is getting much better as time goes by.

Shred Sled is a company that specializes in extreme sports products for children. They introduced their Shox Scooter and last year it was one of the hottest toys of the year! The Shox Scooter is unlike an ordinary scooter, it is the first every active shock absorber that allows riders to preform higher, faster and more awesome tricks!

This scooter is great for beginners which is exactly the type of product I have been looking for. The deck’s rough grip surface provides excellent traction and foot control while preforming tricks or just scooting around the neighborhood.
We were sent the Shox Scooter to review.

The Shox Scooter was super easy to put together! My husband took it out of the box and made a few minor adjustments and we were ready to go. The handle bars which are easy-to-grip can be adjusted up or down so that it fits just right to the height of the child riding.

I love the fact that it can be adjusted, this way Jeremy or Aubrey will be able to ride the Shox Scooter as they get bigger. Aubrey is too little to ride the scooter just yet, but that didn’t stop her from trying to ride it around the living room.

The scooter also has a brake on the back wheel that makes it easy to stop with out having to use your feet on the ground to stop you.

Another feature that I like is that the spring shock deck has a rough grip surface which makes riding much easier especially for beginners. I have noticed that most scooters had a slippery surface which can make riding difficult and much more dangerous.

The Shox Scooter is intended for children ages 5+ but I honestly think in about a year Aubrey will be able to ride the scooter without tipping over. She’s just a tad to short even on the lowest setting with the handle bars. Jeremy on the other hand is the perfect height and age. He isn’t able to do any tricks yet but I bet after a few tries he is going to be a pro on his new Shox Scooter!
