About a year ago I decided that I wanted to stay home with my kids full time so our family started to look for ways to cut costs and save money. We started with the most obvious money savers such as cutting coupons and eating out less often. When my husband and I sat down to figure out other ways we could save money the subject of getting hair cuts came up. My hair is pretty long and only needs a trim every 3-4 months, his hair grows like a weed and needs to be cut at least every 3 weeks. It was costing us about $50 per month just for him to get a simple hair cut. It was his decision to see if we could cut his hair at home. At the time we just had simple hair clipper but it did the job and we have been cutting his hair at home ever since! I estimate over the past year we have saved over $500 by cutting his hair at home.

The Clippers that were were currently using were just normal clippers with a few guards.
