There are things in life that I feel like every person should try at least once in their lives, Ziplining is one of those things. There is something incredible about being high in the air, away from the worries of life on a zipline. I conquered my first zipline in Pensacola back in May, it was amazing and one of the most exhilarating experiences of my life. I won’t lie, though I was definitely scared and it took a lot for me to trust myself to walk off of a platform but after the first line I was hooked! When I found out we would zipping again during Brandcation: Blog Cabin I was beyond excited, especially when I found out we would get to Zipline Through the Great Smokey Mountains courtesy of ClimbWorks.
First off let me say that Climbworks is INCREDIBLE! From start to finish their staff were courtesy, friendly, helpful and out to make sure everyone had the time of their lives. They made it know from the beginning that this was your vacation and they wanted to make sure it was as relaxing and work-free as ziplining can get. When you first enter Climbworks you sign your release forms, get weighed in (don’t worry, it’s secret!) and then get strapped up. Next it’s up the mountains in a exciting ride inside of an ATV. This was a great way to get the “party” started and definitely get’s your adrenaline pumping. Before you start on your first line the guides will give you instructions on how to properly zipline, and you will get a short course on how to to the Starfish..yes it’s as funny as it sounds.
Once your step foot onto that first platform, your feet won’t touch the ground again for another 2 1/2 hours. This will be 2 1/2 hours of pure excitment as you zip across a 1200 ft zipline, learn how to zip like the pro’s do and a few surprises along the way. I had an absolute blast and if I had to rate my experience on a scale of 1-10 it would be a 15. Here is a short video I made that shows just a snippet of how beautiful and high up these ziplines are.
*Thanks to Climbworks covering this event during Brandcation!
