I am not a big drinker, but when I’m on vacation there is nothing better than a cocktail with a umbrella to help you melt into relaxation mode. Aboard a Carnival Cruise Lines there is no shortage of these delicious cocktails and in fact you can pretty much order whatever your heart desires. There are waiters and bartenders around every corner and you don’t have to go far to get the best Carnival Cruise Lines cocktails.
We had several mixed drinks and frozen beverages aboard the Carnival Magic and with so many different drinks to choose from I never had the same thing twice. Here’s a list of the drinks I had and one’s that I recommend ordering on your next cruise.

During one of the first sea days Carnival will have a special mixology contest, where a few cruisers will have the chance to create a new drink. The winner of this contest will then have their drink served during the rest of the cruise. Our Mixology drink was called the Peggy TKO and it was delicious.

There are also options for people who don’t like to drink alcohol or for those who want to order a drink for their kids. You can get things like a Non-Alcoholic Strawberry Daiquiri or Pina Colada.
How much are drinks on a Carnival Cruise?
You can purchase each of these drinks individually or you can opt to buy the The “Cheers” Beverage Program. This beverage program is flat-rate daily pricing for alcoholic drinks, non-alcoholic frozen drinks, wine by the glass and soda. There are a few stipulations to the program such as there is a limit of 15 alcoholic drinks per 24 hour period. If you plan on drinking a lot while on the ship this may be something you can look into to help save you some money.

I’m going to leave you with one very important tip that I wish someone would have told me on my first cruise. Cruise Ship rooms are tight and it can be hard to fit everyones things. That’s why I HIGHLY recommend you invest in one of these very very inexpensive over the door shoe organizer. These are perfect for storing things like makeup, hair dryers, socks, chargers, electronics and yes even shoes. Trust me, you will be glad you bought one.

READ THE FINE PRINT! My husband and I are taking our first cruise in June and looked into the “Cheers” program after our travel agent informed us that if one adult in a stateroom purchases this program then every other adult in the same room is required to purchase the program as well. It would cost over $800 for the two of us for a 7 day cruise for just for drinks! Not worth it for us…
My husband and I tried the Cheers program last year and was TOTALLY worth the money. If you are going on a cruise and you are “drinkers” this plan is for you. I went to the bar every time my drink was empty or was ready for a refresher. It was nice knowing that my money was already set aside for the drinks than waiting for the “surprise” bill afterwords. The first cruise we went on we spent pretty much the same amount of money on a 5 day.
Yes that is correct about everyone in one room has to buy cheers program. I just came back from a cruise on the pride to the Bahamas…i think the cheers program is worth it! If you’re a beer drinker..beers are about $6…if you’re a mixed drinker they can run you anywhere from $8-$10! If you think you’re going to drink more that 5 alcoholic drinks a day regardless of how many days you are on the cruise..it’s definitely worth it!
One more thing about Cheers and Bottomless Bubbles(don’t mean to be a Know -it -all – I am a TA and knowing this stuff is important to my business, plus I like to help!) You are now able to PRE PURCHASE both programs from the Bon Voyage Dept so it’s all taken care of BEFORE you embark. You can also purchase Cruise Cash to be credited to your Sail and Sign account in multiple denominations, which is an excellent way to put aside money for drinks, photos and just general “goodies” onboard,, i.e. a specialty coffee card($25-$30 for 15 specialty drinks)
I’m not an avid drinker but I think I could drink 5 drinks a day on board I prefer sodas over alcohol but my girlfriend likes to drink and we don’t want a big suprise bill at the end do you think it would be wise for us to buy the cheers program? Also will they allow one to buy the cheers program and the other to buy the endless bubbles?
As I said below – I don’t drink alcohol – but for people who do Cheers seems like a good program as most of the alcoholic drinks are between $6 and $9 and I have seen some folks with some pretty big sticker shock when they get their sail and sign bill at the end of the cruise. At the very least Cheers lets you pay in advance for the majority of your drinks, up to 15 in a 24 hour period, and though it doesn’t include mini-bar and gangway drinks, it does offer a discount on bottles of wine and champagne purchased onboard.(but not booze as I understand it) No they do not allow one person to buy Cheers and one to buy Bottomless Bubbles if both are over 21. Apparently they have already (the program isn’t that old) had folks try to cheat the system. One of the things Cheers doesn’t cover is the Souvenir glasses if you are interested in those. Keep in mind also if you do get a Souvenir glass it comes with it’s own benefits: drinks are like $4.75 if you have the glass refilled rather than buy another glass, so don’t leave it in your cabin!
I don’t drink, so I do the non-alcoholic smoothies. They are awesome too AND less expensive!
Does anyone know if you do the CHEERS! Program if you can do it for just the days your at sail or if you have to do it for the days where your stopped somewhere too?
Heather – You have to purchase the CHEERS program for the entire cruise; sea days and port days. Carnival does not let you pick and choose which days you want. 🙁
All programs include all 7 days of cruise. Days at sea and days in port.

Those all look amazing. I wish I was on a cruise ship drinking something with an umbrella, lol. They all look amazing. I would order what they call a Lava Flow in Hawaii. It’s 1/2 daiquiri and 1/2 pin- colada. They are so yummy. Darn, now I am going to have to go find a place that will make one, lol Thanks for sharing all these wonderful drinks. Yum.

Oh these drinks look awesome and delicious. I can’t wait to try some of them on my ship when I sail next year with my family.
My friends and I just got off the Freedom. All the above drinks are served on all the Carnival ships; not exclusive to the Magic. I’m not a drinker and did not purchase any drink package it wasn’t worth it to me and did not spend that much on alcoholic beverages. Always read the small print before purchasing.
If you buy the CHEERS program, is there an added cost for tips included?
They add 15% gratuity when you purchase the program.
Cheers program cannot be used on your first day on cruises leaving ports in Galveston and New York. Carnival will prorate your charges.
