Whenever the weather starts to change you can always count on hearing lot’s of sneezes and sniffles around our house. Especially in the spring time when the flowers start to bloom and it starts to heat up outside. I have always had a suspicion that my kids both had allergies but with no official testing I wasn’t sure. About a month ago I was sent an amazing new product called MyAllergyTest which allows you to test for the ten most common allergens right in your own home with only a simple pin prick. No doctor’s office visit or co-pay required.
TIP: For those that suffer with Allergies I can’t recommend this product enough! My family suffers from seasonal allergies and this has been a huge lifesaver!
At Home Allergy Testing Is EASY!
MyAllergyTest provides everything you need to test for these ten common allergens. The cost of the kit includes the components for the collection of your blood sample, mailing it to the lab (postage paid), your lab test results, and a personalized allergy plan based on those results. Testing is really easy and is done in only three easy steps.
Since I only had one test I decided to use it on my son who seems to suffer the worse from allergies. The instructions in the box are pretty straight forward but be sure to read them all before beginning to collect. My son was pretty nervous about having me take his blood but luckily it was just a little prick which didn’t hurt him at all. Everything in the kit is labeled so unless you don’t read the instructions it’s pretty hard to mess things up. After your done collecting just a small amount of blood you put the collection tubes into the prepaid envelope to be sent off to the lab.
After about 7-10 days you will get the results of your test. If you put your email address in the form that you fill out when sending off your blood you can find out the results faster. This is the method I used, otherwise they will send your results through the mail. I was really surprised to see that Jeremy wasn’t allergic to 9 out of the 10 common allergens and the 10th one he was only slightly sensitive too. It did give us a plan of action on how to minimize his exposure to this allergen.
The Test My Allergy Reviews Are In!
Overall I am really pleased with MyAllergyTest and think that it’s super convenient and very inexpensive when compared to going to get this testing done in the doctor’s office. MyAllergyTest is available nationwide at Walmart, Walgreens, and Meijer in the pharmacy’s diagnostic kit section for a suggested retail price of $49.95. It is also covered under Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Health Savings Accounts (HSA). For more information, visit www.myallergytest.net
