Pot Roast is one of my favorite meals to make. Why? Because it’s quick, easy and tastes so good. When I first got married I had no clue how to cook a Roast. I would buy packets at the store and follow the instructions but my roast would still be really tough and chewy. Now that I have had plenty of trial and error I know how to make a roast with only a few simple ingredients taste juicy and tender.

Ingredients
- 3-4 Pound Chuck Roast
- 6 Large Russet Potatoes
- 7-8 Large Carrots or 1/2 bag of baby carrots
- 1/2 Large White Onion
- 6 Large Sticks of Celery
- Minced Garlic
- 3 Tbsp of Worcestershire Sauce
- Salt and Pepper to Taste
- 1/2 Cup of Water
- Enough Flour to coat your entire roast
Instructions
- Pre-heat your oven to 325 degrees
- Trim the excess fat off of your roast
- In a large skillet add enough oil to cover the pan
- Next coat the entire roast in flour
- Add the roast to the skillet and cook the roast on all sides until it is brown. Set Aside.
- Peel and Slice your Potatoes, you can do this in chunks or slices.
- Wash and Slice your Carrots.
- Wash and Slice the Celery.
- Peel the top layer of of the Onion and Chop into Large Slices.
- In a large roasting Pan Add all of the Veggies and Potatoes.
- Place the Roast on the Top of the all the Veggies and Potatoes.
- Add about 1/2 cup of Water to the Pan. You can want to make sure there is about 1Inch of water in the bottom of the pan. Add more if you need too.
- Next pour the Worcestershire Sauce all over the Roast.
- Rub the Roast with about 1 tsp of Minced Garlic.
- Salt and Pepper the Entire Roast and All of the Vegetables and Potatoes.
- Place the lid on the Roasting Pan or Cover with Foil.
- Place in the Pre-heated oven at 325 Degree.
- Cook for an 1 Hour at 325 Degrees then Reduce the Temp to 300.
- Degree and Cook for an Additional 1 1/2 Hours.
- The Roast Should be very Tender and Juicy if it’s not tender enough let it cook and additional 30 minutes, just keep a close eye on it so you don’t burn the top.
- After you remove the Roast from the Oven let it rest for about 10 minutes and then slice and serve with all the cooked veggies. The water mixture inside the pan also makes a great gravy.
