Last night at my son’s parent teacher conference, we were discussing ways that I could help him master his math skills. When I asked her what she recommends, her answer surprised me. She gave me a long list of iTunes apps that are not only fun for kids but will help them learn the skills they need. This got me thinking about apps that would help my preschooler learn how to get ahead before kindergarten and then I was introduced to Pilo2: An Interactive Children’s Story Book App.
This app is geared towards children who are preschool to early elementary. There are so many great features to this game and many that make it stand out from other education apps. Pilo2 is a 3D animation storybook app that allows your child to interact while the story is being read. What’s really neat about this game is that you can get three different language versions (English, Chinese and Korean) which are all recorded by professional native dubbing artists. It didn’t really think that Aubrey would pay much attention to the other languages but I was completely wrong. She loved them all and was very intrigued by listening to the other languages.
During the game your child can choose which character they want to be either a girl (Sunny) or a boy (Tommy). You can also change Pilo, who is a soft cuddly pillow doll, clothes. Another fun feature of this game is how your child interacts with Pilo just by touching him on the screen.
Pilo2 has won a variety of awards including:
★2012 Won in Smart Contents 2012 Awards (Education/Books category)
★2012 Won “Grand Prize”in Smart App Awards 2012 (Children’s Education)
★2012 Won “First Prize” in Econovation Award at the KT App Creation Contest
So far Aubrey is really enjoying this game and it gets her really excited about reading. I love the fact that this game incorporates many different ways your child can have fun while learning. Pilo2: An Interactive Story Book is available right now for both the iPhone and iPad on iTunes for only $2.99.
