My husband and I had our very first date night post-baby this past weekend. It was so nice to get out of the house for a few hours together with just the two of us. Since it’s been over 3 months since we’ve had a night to ourselves we decided to have dinner and a movie for our date. If you’ve followed me for long you know that Outback Steakhouse is one of my favorites. So you’ve probably already guessed that’s where my hubby and I headed for dinner. And it was perfect timing because Outback Steakhouse just recently introduced the new and very much much anticipated Loaded Bloomin’ Onion and their Big Australia menu.
The Loaded Bloomin’ Onion is worth the trip alone to Outback. It combines two of the restaurant’s most iconic dishes – the signature Bloomin’ Onion and Aussie Cheese Fries. I can’t imagine a better appetizer than those two mixed together. The Loaded Bloomin’ Onion was inspired by the “Big Australia” menu which features bigger (and when I saw bigger I mean BIGGER) Aussie-sized portions of restaurant favorites and exciting new offerings.
Big Australia
On the “Big Australia” menu you will find delicious offerings including
- 18 oz. Center Cut Sirloin: Seasoned and seared to juicy perfection and served with a signature potato and choice of one freshly made side.
- New Béarnaise Jumbo Shrimp Topped Filet: Victoria’s Filet Mignon topped with four jumbo shrimp and a Béarnaise sauce, served with a signature potato and choice of one freshly made side.
- New Giant Crab Stuffed Lobster Tail: Premium lump crab cake stuffed in an Aussie-sized jumbo lobster tail and topped with Hollandaise sauce. Served with your choice of two freshly made sides.
- And of course the Loaded Bloomin’ Onion.
For our date night dinner my husband and I decided to share the 18 oz. Center Cut Sirloin. Holy Cow, was that steak big. Probably the biggest steak I have ever ordered and attempted to eat. In fact, we shared it at the restaurant and still had plenty to take home to enjoy the next day.
Of course not everyone can eat an 18 ounce steak or the larger portions offered on the Big Australia menu and that’s ok! Outback still offers a wide range of dishes to satisfy a variety of dietary needs, tastes and occasions. Including several appetizer and entrée options that are under 600 Calories. These dishes include the Crab and Avocado Stack, the 6 oz. Center Cut Sirloin with mixed vegetables, Grilled Chicken on the Barbie or Perfectly Grilled Salmon.
