Nicholas Sparks has once again made me a mushy mess and I love it! Every time he has a new book out and I sit down to read it, I always have a glass of wine and a big box of tissues. You always know that a book is good when you can be so connected to the story that it draws out all sorts of emotions. Just recently I had a few of my girlfriends over to talk about Nicholas Sparks newest love story, The Choice.
Not only is The Choice available to read, which I highly recommend. But it just recently released into theaters on February 5th. I seriously can’t wait to see this movie, especially after reading the book. The movie is always a little bit different than the book so it’s exciting to see how true they stay to the original story.
About The Choice
When feisty medical student Gabby Hollan [Teresa Palmer] moves in next door to perennial ladies’ man Travis Shaw [Benjamin Walker], they embark on a surprising romantic journey neither imagined possible. Travis has always believed a serious relationship would cramp his easygoing lifestyle, while Gabby is preparing to settle down with her long-term boyfriend—until an irresistible attraction between the unlikely couple upends both of their well-planned lives. How far would you go to keep the hope of love alive?
One of the things that I love most about reading a Nicholas Sparks novel is that it’s almost like I am living inside the book and watching the characters lives unfold right before my eyes. The books are always so real and it’s easy to let lose and get lost while reading a Nicholas Sparks tale. His stories can transport you into a world of beautiful marshes and quiet beaches. And for a few hours I can imagine myself sitting next to the water with sand between your toes, falling in love alongside the characters in the story. But while I love a good book I love it even more when I can see the story and my favorite characters played out on the big screen.
We had a great time sitting down and discussing our favorite parts of The Choice during our reading party. Without giving away any spoilers I will tell you that The Choice is a GREAT book and once you start reading it you won’t want to put it down. I plan on seeing the movie this weekend I can’t wait. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the book or movie if you’ve seen it! Leave me a comment and tell me what you thought about it.
