What do you do when you are on vacation in Grapevine, Texas and have two Lego fanatic children? Well that’s easy….take them to Legoland Discovery Center of course! LegoLand is located in Grapevine Texas in the Grapevine Mills Mall. Be prepared to spend at least 2 to 3 hours at the Discovery Center. This gives you plenty of time to go through some of the exhibits, check out the rides and visit the store that has just about every current Lego set available.
Tickets for LegoLand are $19.00 per adult and $15.00 per child (Kids under 2 are free). If you know in advance that you will be visiting I suggest purchasing your tickets online and you will save a couple of bucks per ticket.
When you first begin your journey into Legoland you are taken into a room and given the history of how a lego is made. You even get to help participate in the making a a Lego which you all get to take home. Next your off onto your first ride, Kingdom Quest which you will be able to defeat the skeletons, trolls and save the Lego princess. This was a fun ride for the whole family, we really enjoyed it.
After the “factory” and the first ride you are off to enjoy the rest of the rides and activities at your own pace. You can build your own Lego car and race down ramps, sing karaoke in the Lego Friends room, race your friends in a real-life Lego car or you can enjoy some Lego 4D animation in the movie room.
I will also say to make sure that your kids have socks with them in order to play on the play areas. Aubrey just had sandals so I had to take my socks off and let her wear mine. Not so fun! Overall we had a great visit and will definitely visit again the next time we are in Grapevine, Texas. For more information on Legoland in Grapevine or to see other locations in the US be sure to visit them online at http://www.legolanddiscoverycenter.com/.
*I purchased my own tickets to Legoland Discovery Center. We had such a great experience I wanted to share it with everyone.
