When the summer season rolls around I always get the itch to do some sort of remodeling project on my house. This year I decided it was time to give my bedroom a little face lift so I started searching the internet, magazines and TV shows on ideas for remodeling a Bedroom. When we first moved into our house it had 2 bedrooms, a living room and a huge family room. Since we didn’t have kids at the time this was perfect for us, but as our family grew so did our need for bedrooms so we converted the family room into our master bedroom. It’s been great having such a large room but the challenging part is making it look more relaxing and room like.
Our bedroom has 5 windows, yes you heard me right, 5 windows! There are no trees in front of our windows so as soon as the sun comes up the room fills with beaming sunlight, which is not the best thing at 6:30 in the morning. In my quest to remodel my bedroom I have decided to purchase blackout shades to help make the room darker. I have found several colors and designs that I like but I am still on the hunt for the perfect curtain poles to make the windows and shades stand out. The room is going to be a light color so I was thinking of purchasing a stainless steel or metal colored pole for each window like the one pictured below. I think this would look great with a light brown colored room.
We just bought our bedroom furniture not too long ago so I’m good in that area but I have to decide whether to stick with carpet or change to hardwood floors. There are benefits to both but I want something that will look great for many years to come. I would love to hear your thoughts and ideas for remodeling a bedroom.
