Did you know that there is a right and wrong way to boil eggs? If you cook them too long you can discolor your eggs and if you undercook you eggs they will come out runny and hard to peel. I have gotten plenty of practice boiling eggs over the past few years and have figured out the absolute easiest and best way to make perfect Hard boiled eggs.
First thing you need to do is let your eggs sit at room temperature and let them warm up a bit. I normally let them sit out about 20 minutes. If they are too cold it’s makes peeling them more difficult.
Next put your eggs in a single layer in a saucepan and cover with water.
Set the heat to medium high and let your water come to a rolling boil. Remove the pan from the heat and cover for 11 minutes for a large egg. If your using an extra large egg add a few extra minutes.
Now remove the eggs from the water and let them cool until they are easy to touch.
Now they are ready to peel. You will notice that the peeling comes right off! No more little chips here and there, which can be a huge pain when peeling a large amount of eggs.
Now your ready to eat. Enjoy!
