I participated in an Ambassador Program on behalf of Influence Central for Virgin Mobile USA which is one of Sprint’s prepaid brands. I received two Virgin Mobile smartphones to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
There is always that one person in the family who likes to use up more data than the others. In our family we are pretty equal when it comes to sharing the data but now that my son has reached his preteen years he is starting to use his phone more and more. More phone time equals more data time. As part of the Sprint Family Ambassador program we have gotten a chance to check out a variety of phones and this month was centered all around data-sharing with the family.
The Data Done Right plans are Single Line and Multi-line Data Sharing plans, available exclusively at Walmart. This plan is the perfect option for families who share data because you can divvy up the data, however and whenever for each line. All phones come pre-loaded with the Virgin Mobile app which that allows users to manage their data sharing directly from their device. With the app there is a unique function that lets you allocate a specific amount of data to each line.
Every Multi-line plan also comes with a free mobile hotspot feature, making it even easier to share data across Wi-Fi enabled devices. Virgin Mobile’s Data Done Right Multi-line Data Sharing plans feature:
- Parental control features with device curfew and app restrictions.
- No additional monthly line fees. No contract.
- Sprint® Nationwide Network
- One-touch data buy-up options, which range depending on your need for more data.
- Popular social media and music streaming apps without data charges, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pandora – unlimited usage without counting against your data allotment, for just $5 per month.
- Flexible international calling/texting options.
So let’s talk about Data Hogs. DATA HOG: A Person who consumes more than their fair share of data every month and contribute to over-limit fees.
How are Family Earns Data
So how can you prevent a Data Hog in your family? It’s simple. First you sign up for Data Done Right Plan. Next you get your family set up with a chore chart. This chore chart is the best because it will help you (the master data holder) with spreading out the allotment of data. Family members will earn data by doing chores or good deeds. It’s a win-win!
My family and I have been using the Data Done Right plan for a few weeks now and it is GREAT! Not only do all of us get our fair share of data but my kids are actually doing chores without being asked to earn more data. More data means more games, more videos, etc. So the more things you do around the house the more data will be waiting for you.
