*I received the following games in exchange for my honest review.
If there is one thing that I have in common with my kids, it’s our love of all things Disney. There is something special and magical about Disney and it has a way of bringing families together whether it’s with movies, theme parks or video games. I wasn’t surprised when my son asked for the Disney Infinity Starter kit. I was actually really excited because I have been wanting to try out this game for my self since it first came out.
The Disney Infinity Starter Pack that we received is compatible with the Wii but they also make platforms for the XBOX360, Playstation 3, Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. The starter pack comes with everything you need to get started and includes the following.
- Includes Video Game and INFINITY Base.
- Also includes base piece that allows access to 3 INFINITY Charaters: Monsters University, Pirates of the Caribbean, and The Incredibles AND 3 INFINITY Characters: Mr. Incredible, Jack Sparrow, and Sulley.
- Also includes your first INFINITY Power Disc.
- Also includes unique web codes to unlock content online and on your mobile device.
- The gameplay in DISNEY INFINITY for the Wii does not have online play or multiplayer in Playsets (there is multiplayer in Toybox)
The starter set currently runs for around $75 but it includes everything and more to get you started. However I will say that once you get “started” to you probably want to invest in this game a little more. You can add characters, power discs and more to make this game even more fun. I like to treat my kids to new characters for birthdays, special rewards etc. It’s really a great incentive.
If your child is into Minecraft, they are going to LOVE Disney Infinity. Even though there are two modes I find my son playing the Toy Box mode most often because you can create some of the most magnificent items for the game including race tracks, kingdoms, and much more.
In the Play Set Gameplay mode each Play Set involves completing a plethora of missions (6-10 hours) that help you level up characters, buy special vehicles and weapons, and earn Spins in the Disney Infinity Vault. Some missions are harder than others, but they are fun to complete. The Pirates of the Caribbean play set is especially fun because of the details on the pirate’s boat and its maneuverability.
Overall I would give this game two big thumbs up! My entire family (even us big kids) have had a lot of fun playing and looking forward to adding even more characters to add to the excitement. Disney Infinity Starter Pack is available in stores and online now so if your looking for some good family fun, be sure to check it out.
