There is just something special about getting the family together and baking holiday cookies. Ever since I was a little girl this was one of my favorite parts about the holidays. Now that my kids are old enough, holiday baking has become something that will build life-long memories for me and my children.
Wilton has the biggest selection of cookie making accessories and kits that I have ever seen! Whether your looking for sprinkles in every color or dazzling cookie boxes to wrap up your creations, Wilton has got it all.
Wilton recently sent me Comfort Grip Cookie Press.
I have never used a Cookie Press before this review, so I wasn’t really sure what to expect. From the package it looked really simple and something that would really come in handy this holiday.
The Cookie press comes with 12 different discs to make a huge variety of shapes for your cookies. There seems to different ones for all of the holidays like a heart shape for valentines day, a clover for St. Patrick’s Day and a Pumpkin for Halloween.
I used the Wilton Recipe for Classic Spritz Cookies which was VERY easy to follow you can get this off of their website or it comes right on the box.
Ingredients:
* 3 1/2 Cups of All-Purpose Flour
* 1 teaspoon of Baking Powder
* 1 Egg
* 1 1/2 Cups of Butter
* 1 Cup of Sugar
* 1 teaspoon of Vanilla
* 1/2 teaspoon of Almond Extract
* 2 Tablespoons of Milk
Makes 7-8 Dozen Cookies
Instructions:
Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees. In a large Bowl combine the Flour and Baking Powder. In another Large Bowl combine the butter and sugar together and beat together until light and fluffy. Add the egg, milk, vanilla and almond extract and mix well. Gradually add the Flour mixture to the butter mixture and beat well. Be sure not to chill. Fill the cookie press with the dough and choose your desired disk and press your cookies onto a non-greased cookie sheet. Bake your cookies for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
Everything is very easy to take apart so that you can fill up the container with the cookie dough. You really want to make sure that you push all of the dough down to the bottom and fill the container all the way up to get the best results.
The cookie dough comes out with the push of the trigger and just enough comes out each time to make the perfect cookie.
I honestly could not have been more impressed with how easy and fantastic this cookie press is. It literally takes the hard work out of making cookies and it gives you such gorgeous cookies at the same time.
We had a lot of fun using the Cookie Presser and I have a feeling it will get used several more times before Christmas gets here. Jeremy was at school when we did the first batch of “test” cookies so I am really looking forward to letting him make some of the Spritz Cookies.The Wilton Cookie Press is a great inexpensive product that will help make your holiday much more fun.
