Having a son has opened my eyes to a whole new world of entertainment. I never knew how much I would really like things such as Planes, Trains, and even race cars. Last year I fell in love with a little movie you might have heard of called Planes. This movie was along the same lines of the very popular Disney movie Cars but with a whole new element. A few months after seeing Planes I heard that they were working on the second edition of the movie called Planes: Fire & Rescue and I couldn’t have been more excited. That was until I actually got to be one of the first people to see the movie in it’s entirety last month at Disney Toon Studios.
Planes Fire & Rescue sort of beings where the first planes movie ended. Dusty is till racing but things take an unexpected turn and life as he knew it is turned upside down. I don’t want to give too many spoilers away but I will tell you that I LOVED Planes Fire and Rescue. It’s a lot different than the first as far as the story goes and you will find yourself at times on the edge of your seat.
One of the most important things about this movie, is the message that hopefully kids will take away. Disney and Pixar do such a fantastic job when it comes to telling a story about how things should be done and that is certainly the case with Planes Fire and Rescue. It shows kids that it’s important to be a team and do things together to accomplish a task rather than doing it all by yourself.
Overall I really enjoyed this movie. It has some of the most amazing visual effects that I have ever seen in an animated film and at times it almost seems as if you are watching a real fire unfold. There is a lot of drama in this movie but there is also a lot of humor as well. Including a couple of “inside” jokes that probably only the parents will get. It’s nice that Disney and Pixar thought about us adults too.
In addition to the movie being released into theaters July 18th, Planes Fire and Rescue is also releasing a new product line to coincide with the film. I got a chance to catch a sneak peak at some of these products and let me tell you they are FANTASTIC.
Some of my favorite products included:
Planes puzzles, clothing and die cast.
Planes Back to School Items
Mobo Tot Disney Planes: Fire and Rescue Dusty:
And so much more!
