I have to admit that I had never heard of Corel products before I was sent Paint It! to review. Our Family loves to draw and my kids love to paint so I thought this would be a great product to try out.
Paint it! is a new program from Corel that was first released in March of 2010. It turns your ordinary photos into beautiful paintings with just the touch of a button. This program is made for everyone, whatever your age or experience.
I wanted to test Paint it out first so I downloaded the software to my computer which took about 5 minutes. Once the software was finished downloading I picked out a few pictures to work with.
This is the first picture that I worked on. I love this picture! This is my two kids waking up bright and early while we were camping a few weeks ago.
I used the Colored Pencil effect on this picture and this is what it looks like when it was done. It takes about 45 seconds to transform right before your eyes it really is very neat. My kids were both going nuts with excitement as they watched themselves on the computer screen being drawn.
We honestly spent 2 hours playing with Corel Paint it because it was so much fun seeing all of the different ways that you can change your pictures. It is so easy to use even for my 6 year old who had a blast painting fun things on pictures of himself.
If you want to work on your picture manually there are so many tools and options to work with like fairy dust, Fire Brush, Pattern Pen, Leaf Brush and other fun effects to help you spice up your photo. If you want to Paint your photos you can choose between Oil, Illustration, Pencil & Pen, Watercolor, Colored Pencil, Pastel, Impressionist and much more! One thing that I noticed was that with the Watercolor and Impressionist paintings it does take a little while longer to draw so if your stretched for time this could be a draw back, however I just found something to do during this time.
There are so many different effects with this program that I can’t possibly show you everything but I will give this products a HUGE thumbs up. My family and I really enjoyed our time making these photos and I am excited to see how my summer pictures will turn out after I use these effects on them.
