#Win a Pair of Christian Louboutin’s-4 Winners!

I don’t have many addictions but when it comes to shoes I will admit I have a weakness. That’s probably one of the reasons why I own 50 pairs of shoes, many which I’ve only worn a couple of times. I absolutely love shoes and anytime I see a pair that catches my eye it’s hard to resist. Most of my shoes are pretty inexpensive but someday I hope too add a pair of Louboutin’s like the ones pictured below to my growing collection.

Planning the Perfect Gulf Coast Beach Vacation #visitmscoast

It’s no secret that my family and I love to go on vacations. As a kid my parents took us kids all over the country, crammed packed inside a small mini-van, but we loved every minute of it and these are some of my best childhood memories. Now that I am a parent it’s just as important to me that I am able to allow my kids to experience some of the beautiful places that the United States has to offer. On the top of my wish list for upcoming vacations is to visit the beach, and so I have been looking into vacations in Mississippi because this is a state known for their beautiful gulf coast beaches. There are a few things on my bucket list that I could definitely cross off during mu gulf coast vacation. These include para-sailing, riding a jet ski through the ocean and reeling in a HUGE fish in the deep sea.

Looking at all the beautiful gulf coast resorts Mississippi has to offer gets me pretty excited about planning my next trip. There are resorts for all types of budgets and some of these resorts even offer vacation packages to help you get the most out of your vacation while saving a little cash at the same time. So whether your looking for a luxury resort experience or a budget friendly-weekend getaway, the Mississippi Gulf Coast is definitely a destination you should look into.

2012 Britax Marathon 70 Car Seat

Wcar seatshen I was pregnant with my first child I researched everything and wanted to him to have the best products available. Right before he was born I started to look for recommendations for car seats and one of the brands that I kept hearing over and over again was Britax. Many parents trust Britax because of not only the stylish features of the seats but most importantly the safety features. My oldest son no longer uses a car seat and my daughter recently converted to a booster but whenever someone asks for my recommendation on car seats, Britax is one of my top picks. You can find out more information and a great review of the Britax Marathon 70 Car seat by visiting

Introducing Mom Luck!

You might have noticed that things look a little bit different around here. After many, many months of going back and forth I finally decided that it was time to not only give my site a much needed makeover but to also change my name. You see when I started this site it was just for fun and a way for my friends and family to follow along with my new stay-at-home mom adventures. I never dreamed it would become what it is today.I am so very thankful for all the opportunities that I have received, the things that I have learned and all of the amazing people I have met over the past two years. Because of the new direction my site has taken over the last year I decided that Fun Saving Money was no longer a very fitting name so without further ado I now introduce to the new and improved…Mom Luck.

You might be asking how in the world I came up with the name Mom Luck. Well you see I am a mom and always will be so that part was pretty easy.  The Luck part of the name came from a few different things. For instance  you may not already know this but a fun little fact for you, I was born on St. Patrick’s Day. Yep that’s right I am a St. Paddy’s Day baby and I have to say that I couldn’t have hand picked a better day to have your birthday on. I’m not sure if having your birthday on one of the luckiest day’s of the years rubs off on you, but I have had a few lucky streaks over my years.

I hope that you all like the new look of the site and the name as much as I do. It’s definitely going to take a little while for everyone to adjust but hopefully not too long. Everything on my site as far as giveaways, reviews, recipes and my win it Wednesday linky will stay the same. Also you can now get to my site by typing in either or I would love to hear your thoughts and opinions on the new look as well as new things that you would like to see! Thanks so much for all of your support!

What’s on My Music Playlist?

Last week I had fun joining in on some Blog Hops to learn more about my favorite bloggers so this week I decided to join in on the fun again. Today the question was ‘What Kind of Music is on your playlist? Well this is a pretty funny question because honestly I like it all! From Country to Rap and everything in between, if it’s got a good beat chances are I will like it. My tastes in songs do change from day to day and depending on what type of mood I am in. Just in case your wondering here is what’s on my playlist at the moment.

my playlist

I LOVE Pandora Internet radio! I have it on my iphone and iPad and it’s nice because I can listen to all of my favorite songs for free.

Here are just a few of my old CD’s. Last year I got rid of a TON of old CD’s but not all of them, I still have about 100+ that I just can’t seem to get rid of. I don’t really listen to the all the much anymore but everynow and then I will dust the top off and listen to some old school Bon Jovi, Weezer, James Taylor or Prince.

What do you think about the new Miley Cyrus do?

Thankfully my daughter is only 4, so she never went through the HUGE Hanna Montana Disney craze a few years ago. I will admit though I have always secretly routed for Miley Cyrus and hoped that she would not fall victim to the many pressures of being a young child actor and having so much fame so soon. She’s had a few ups and downs over the past few years especially after leaving Disney, I personally think she is trying way to hard to get rid of that “good girl” persona of playing Hanna Montana. Today I noticed that she posted a photo of herself sporting a new very short haircut.  So what do you think of the newhair do of Miley Cyrus?

The new hair do of Miley Cyrus

I’m just not sure what to think. Maybe the angle is just bad but I’m not digging it.

What’s For Dinner?

Every wonder what your favorite bloggers are like in real life?! Well that’s exactly why I am participating in a fun blog carnival with several other bloggers and the theme is Get To Know Me. Today is all about what’s in your kitchen so without further ado here is a picture of my refridgerator and pantry.

The Fridge

YIKES!! I think it’s time to go grocery shopping, I feed my kids I swear.LOL!

The Pantry

Our Pantry is more like a closet that opens it has shelves on the 6 total shelves on the front, back and sides and on the very back wall are larger shelves for bigger things like boxes of cereal etc.

Thanks to Trisha for hosting this challenge. If you want to participate and show “what’s for dinner” at your house you can stop by her site.

5 Things I Would Do First if I won the Powerball

The Powerball jackpot is up to $212 Million dollars as of the last draw and it got me thinking what I could do with all of that cash.

1. First thing I would do if I won the lottery  besides having a heart attack, is sign the back of the ticket and make a copy. I probably wouldn’t sleep either in fear of losing the winning ticket.

2. Next I would head to the nearest Lottery Commission to cash in my ticket. It’s about an hour and half drive which I sure will seem like an eternity.

3. After cashing in my ticket I would pay off all of my debts, my parent’s and in-laws debts and set aside some college funds for my kids and my nieces and nephews.

4. Next I would surprise everyone close to me with an all expense paid trip to Disney World flying first class in a private jet and staying at the nicest hotel on property.

5. After we all got back from Disney World I would start looking for a new house and invest in a business that would keep us busy and hopefully something that would we could pass on to our kids.

I can come up with about a million different things I would do with all of that cash but these are on my top 5 list. It would be so nice to never have to worry about money or be able to provide my family and friends with things that would otherwise never be possible. I’m sure the odds are about 1 in a billion but someone has to win so why couldn’t it be more or you! With so many people having to financial problems and relying on it’s a nice fantasy of most people to win the lottery. What would you do if you won the powerball?

Top four activities in Budapest, Hungary

Budapest is a beautiful and dynamic city, recovering from it’s past and finally enjoying genuine independence after centuries of occupation from more powerful nations.    There is a real sense of optimism in the Hungarian people, which can be viewed in any restaurant or pub in Budapest.   And for the tourist that just wants to experience the sights, there is no shortage of activities to fill up your stay.

family vacations, hungary

Thermal baths
The thermal baths of Budapest are a great place to unwind after a long day.   Fed by hot springs coming up from under the earth, these natural pools are not chlorinated as the water is always fresh.  There are different temperature pools available, and smaller inside pools which are mainly for sitting in and absorbing the heat.    There are also saunas and massages available for a small fee.

Cave visits
Budapest is divided by the Danube river.  The Buda side, on the west of the river is extremely hilly and is the location for castles, palaces, and many different caves, which have been used for centuries for all kinds of different purposes, from prisons to bomb shelters for the government.  In summer Budapest can be very, very humid, so taking a trip underground on a hot day is a great way to cool yourself off!  If you want to rent a car to see Hungary, erento is top of the hire and rental industry:

Visit Margaret Island
Located in the middle of the Danube river, Margaret island is a one and a half mile long strip of pleasant parks, trees and fields to lay in.  It is very close to the centre of Pest and is a hugely popular destination for city folk and
tourists alike, when the weather is hot.   You can rent a bicycle here and explore, or simply sit back and eat at one of the snack bars offering Hungarian delicacies.

Eat something Hungarian
Hungarian cuisine is well defined and offers some famous dishes such as Goulash, alongside some less well known creations.   Chicken Paprikash rarely fails to satisfy the taste buds, while Langos is the high calorie fried bread that goes perfectly with a nice Hungarian beer.

Chick-fil-A Controversary

Now before I go into this post I want to make sure that I am not in anyway saying that I agree or disagree with the actions or statements of Chick-fil-A. Ok now that I have gotten that out of the way all I can say is HOLY MOLY! Apparently in all the chaos of the new stories and olympics I totally missed that today was Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day, which was called upon by Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum. I had no idea that this would be such a topic on Twitter, Facebook, Blogs, News pages, etc., etc.

cow chick-fil-a, gay marriages

Here is a picture from my local Chick-fil-A taken by one of the ladies I used to work with. Not only was the restaurant packed full with supporters but their were also many gay marriage supporters outside who weren’t so thrilled with the restaurant. This also wasn’t just an isolated incident here in Oklahoma, restaurants were full all across the US.

So what do you think? Has this gone WAY to far?
