*My family and I were guests aboard Carnival Cruise and received a complimentary cruise. All opinions expressed are my own.
If there is one thing I can tell you for certain about being on a Carnival Cruise, it’s that you will never go hungry. There is no shortage of Carnival Cruise Food aboard the ship. There is always something to eat (and drink) around every corner.
What is Carnival Cruise Food Like
While on board the ship you will have many options when it comes to Carnival Cruise food. Depending on which ship you are on, will determine which restaurants you will have. Since we recently cruised on the Carnival Magic that is the ship that I am going to highlight in this post.
Carnival Cruise Buffets
We frequently visited the Buffet during breakfast and lunch. They have an assortment of food for every taste. They change the theme of the buffet each day so there isn’t the same kind of food. There are lot’s of tables inside the buffet area and outside as well. You can even get a seat with a ocean view if you would like.
Carnival Cruise Restaurants:
If there is one thing I will recommend to you when it comes to dining options, it’s dining each night in the sit-down restaurant. Before your cruise you can determine which dinner time you would like to have. We choose the early dinner because of our kids but you can choose early, late or you can dine at your own time. When you pick the early or late dinner you are guaranteed your table each night at that certain time.
If you choose your own time you will have to wait for a table to come available. Each night at dinner the menu will have something different on it, including a specialty item called “Didya” (As in Did ya ever try that). We got the Didya item each night and ate things like real sushi, escargot, alligator and more. You’d be surprised at how good some of these are. But don’t worry, if you ever something you don’t like your waiter will bring you more Carnival Cruise food.
We ate dinner in the Assigned Seating dining room almost every night. Our waiter Leslie was absolutely amazing and just blew me away. I have never in my life had a waiter take care of us so well.
Carnival Cruise Speciality Restaurants
There are two specialty restaurants aboard the Carnival Magic. I ate at both of them and let me tell you they are worth every extra penny. The Prime Steakhouse features top grade steaks and more. They are on top of everything when it comes to service and you will leave here with a smile on your face and a full stomach. The other restaurant is Cucina del Capitano which is an Italian style restaurant. I didn’t eat here during dinner but I did enjoy their pasta at lunch. I would recommend both of these Carnival Cruise Food options.
Pasta
The Cucina del Capitano Restaurant is located above the Lido Market (Buffet). At lunch there is no charge to eat in the restaurant and choose from their delicious Pasta Bar. We ate lunch her twice during our cruise and it was delicious. If you choose to eat at this restaurant for dinner there is a $15 per person charge and you will need to make reservations.
Room Service aboard Carnival Cruise
Room service is complimentary when you are on the ship. It’s available 24 hours a day at no charge. The room service menu has options such as sandwiches, desserts and you can even order beverages and cocktails for an extra fee. You can also order breakfast, which we did almost every morning. We just had coffee, hot chocolate and sometimes cereal delivered to the room before we headed down for breakfast.
Overall I was really impressed with all of the Carnival cruise food. I never went hungry and I loved the fact that Carnival Cruise makes sure it always has something different and fresh. There were a few times when I didn’t really like something on the menu and when that happened I knew I could always get pizza or order from room service 24 hours a day. The pizza is so delicious and made fresh right in front of you! I could have ate that all day long.
