This is my second month participating in the California Wine Club and I couldn’t be happier. The selections of wine that I received both last month and this month are fantastic. I mentioned in my last post that I wasn’t much of a wine drinker. Sure I would have the occasional glass of wine but I wasn’t one to always have wine at my house. I think this was partly because I had never really tasted a good wine before and I didn’t really even know much about wine. This is why I think the California Wine Club is so great, because they do all of the choosing for you and send you some of the best wine from Vineyards all over the US.
This month I was sent two bottles of wine bottled by Daniel Gehrs. Both of these wines are medal winners in their taste and quality. We were sent a bottle of 2011 Chenin Blanc from the White Hills Vineyard in Santa Barbara County and a Bottle of 2009 Merlot from the Central Coast. Both wines are crisp and taste fantastic. I had always hear that when you let a wine age it tastes better and from the wine we have received are the past 2 months I know this to be true.
If your looking for a unique gift that is budget friendly I would suggest taking a look at the California Wine Club. Even if your not a big wine drinker, like me it’s nice to be able to try something new and enjoy things that you wouldn’t normally get to.
