I participated in an In-Home Party Activation on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Mattel. I received product samples to facilitate my party and a promotional item to thank me for participating.
The beginning of the school year can be a hard time for kids, especially if they are shy. Aubrey is in first grade this year and it’s been a bit of a bumpy road. She’s a very outgoing girl but that’s when she is in a comfortable situation. I think once she gets used to her new class, teacher and students the school year will get much easier for her. A lot of kids go through similar situations and it’s hard for kids to open up about what they are going through. That’s one of the reasons I was so excited to hear about the new movie, Barbie and the Secret Door. In this magical, musical adventure, a shy princess would rather read than perform her royal duties. Join Alexa as she discovers a door to wonderful land where she makes new friends and finds the courage to stand up for what’s right.
This past weekend was a special one because my nieces were in town. They are all huge Barbie fans so I couldn’t think of a better way to spend our time together than with a Barbie and The Secret Door viewing party. Mom Central and Mattel sent us lot’s of fun goodies to go along with the party so I wanted to try and make it as special as possible. When my nieces arrived I sent all of the girls outside for about 20 minutes so I could set the party up. I put all of the toys together and had them close their eyes when they came back in. None of the girls had any idea what they were in store for.
The girls all LOVED the movie. It was really colorful and filled with fun music but most importantly it had a really great storyline. As a parent it’s nice to have shows that my kids will watch and be able to relate to the character. Aubrey is really shy and her being able to see that Princess Alexa is shy too, makes her feel better.
Barbie and The Secret Door is now available on DVD in stores and online. It’s a really cute movie that girls will love, especially if they are Barbie fans. To learn more about Barbie and The Secret Door you can check out the movie online at: http://www.barbie.com/en-us/
