Oklahoma is such a beautiful place to visit. There is so much history and culture here, however, it’s often a state that is overlooked when it comes to travel. The Artesian Hotel, located in the small town of Sulphur, is definitely one of Oklahoma’s hidden treasures. It has all of the amenities and elegance that you would find in a larger upscale city but with with the beauty and comfort that a small town offers.
My husband and I recently visited the Artesian Hotel and stayed two nights. The hotel is the perfect option for a weekend getaway and has everything you could ever want to have a fun, relaxing and memorable time. The Artesian was built in 2013 and made to match the size and elegance of the original Artesian Hotel which was built in the early 1900’s.
When we first arrived to the hotel and stepped inside it reminded me of a classic elegance. Everything was pristine from the furniture to the decor and everything in between.
The aromatic smell throughout the entire hotel was incredible. It wasn’t overwhelming but enough that you noticed just how good everything smelled. I know that sounds weird but it’s just one of the extra special touches that the Artesian Hotel does that makes your stay extra special. I’m not sure why the hotel smelled so good, perhaps it was the fresh flowers everywhere which I loved.
The rooms are immaculate. I have stayed at many hotels in cities such as Las Vegas, NYC, and LA and the Artesian Hotel lands in my top three list of best hotel rooms. They are clean, comfortable and luxurious. There are different types of rooms available at The Artesian, we stayed in an Executive King Suite which featured a king size bed, and a beautiful sitting area with views of the town.
There is also plenty of space throughout this room including a sitting area with two chairs and a table.
Desk area with TV and Keurig coffee station
Large closet with plenty of storage space for clothes and luggage
But here is my favorite part of the room!
This is the part of the room that set’s The Artesian Hotel apart from all others. Each morning my husband and I would sit on these benches and drink our coffee (from the Keurig in the room!) while looking out at the beautiful view that surrounds the hotel. It’s a really peaceful and relaxing way to start your day.
The bathroom is huge! It includes a oversized tub, larger shower and sink area. There are also bathrobes to use at your convenience.
So while you are not enjoying your beautiful room, you might be wondering what there is to do while your at the hotel. The question really is what is there NOT to do at the Artesian.
The Hotel has so many different amenities including:
- Indoor/outdoor pool
- HUGE indoor spa
- State of the art fitness center
- Tax-free Shopping at eleven unique shops
- Spa Services for adults and kids
We tried to experience as much as we could in the two days at the hotel and with all the Artesian has to offer two days just wasn’t enough. We did however find time to take advantage of the spa services and did a 30 minute couples massage at the Sole-rinty Spa and it was fantastic. Included with your spa services is the use of Sole’renity’s soothing steam rooms, saunas, and soaking tubs. Well worth the extra money and time.
Food is often one of my top priorities when it comes to taking a vacation and the Springs at the Artesian Hotel does not disappoint. The food is amazing and I highly recommend checking out the restaurant while you are in town. You can check out my full Springs at The Artesian Hotel Review here.
Our weekend at The Artesian Hotel flew by and I was really sad to leave. I had such an amazing time and will definitely be returning very soon. In addition to the hotel the area has so much to see and do including Turner Falls, The Chickasaw Cultural Center and a beautiful lake only minutes away from the hotel.
I received two-nights complimentary at the hotel and food and spa credit in exchange for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.
